Application of Ceramic Fiber Module in Industrial Furnaces

Ceramic fiber module is a type of ceramic fiber product made of folded ceramic fiber blanket. It has great advantages over traditional insulation lining materials when used in the lining of industrial furnaces.

Refractory materials used in industrial furnaces mainly include insulation bricks, refractory castables and ceramic fiber. Insulation brick is the first material used in the lining of industrial furnaces. It has good high temperature resistance and erosion resistance. However, it is difficult to manufacture and install, so currently it is limited to a certain working conditions. Refractory castable is a type of heavy refractory. Compared to insulation brick, it is easy to manufacture without firing, but its bulk density, insulation performance and construction period limit its application.
Ceramic fiber is a type of soft and elastic fibrous refractory material developed in 1970s. Its emergency introduced a new energy-saving insulation method for industrial furnaces and other thermal equipment. It has many advantages such asa light weight, good insulation performance, easy construction and no baking. It is currently the most widely used industrial furnace lining material. it has a very low thermal conductivity, so it can effectively reduce the heat dissipation of furnace walls and save energy. Its low thermal inertia makes the control of furnace temperature more convenient.
It is made by folding blanket into accordion-like module. The module is pre-compressed first and then packed. Finally, anchors are embedded into it. It contains no binding agent. The module can expand in different directions into a seamless whole. After untying,modules can tightly squeeze each other in different directions with gap. It can be fixed to the industrial furnace shell plate directly by various of anchors.
Besides, it can be processed into shaped products to be adapted to the shapes of furnace walls. It has good resistance to mechanical vibration and shock and good chemical stability.
The module is fixed to the furnace shell with short anchor nails. Since thew anchor nails are not in direct contact with the furnace atmosphere, it can greatly reduce heat dissipation of the furnace shell. In addition, in order to protect the ceramic fiber module, high temperature aluminum cloth is sewn on it. This aluminum cloth can withstand 1200 ℃. Compared with conventional stainless steel, it has advantages of no deformation and easy repair.
The module is easy to install, but every step should strictly follow the requirements of the construction. If the welding of anchor nails is not strong enough, the modules may collapse.
Compared to traditional lining structure, the module lining has much better insulation performance and sealing effect. It is used to replace traditional lining materials in order to improve the insulation performance and reduce heat loss.
