Advantages Of Ceramic Fiber Blankets As Lining Materials

Ceramic fiber blanket is a kind of light weight refractory insulation material. It is widely used as lining materials in the kilns and furnaces. Ceramic fiber blankets as lining materials have many advantages over other insulation materials.
1) Low bulk density
Ceramic fiber blanket is 75% lighter than the light weight insulation brick and 90-95% lighter than light weight casting materials. The use of steel fiber lining can greatly reduce the load of the furnace and prolong its service life.
2) Low heat capacity
The heat capacity is only 10 percent of that of the light weight insulation brick and light weight casting material. The heat capacity of lining material is proportional to its weight. The low heat capacity has significant energy efficiency for the openness and shutdown of the furnaces.
3) Easy to install
It is easy to install. There is no need to leave expansion joints.
4) Good resistance to thermal shock and mechanical shock
It is flexible and elastic. It can be heated and cooled rapidly and not easy to be damaged.
5)No need of preheating
It can be put into use after construction without preheating.
6) Good sound insulation
It can reduce the high-frequency noise under 1000 HZ. Its sound insulation capacity is better than common materials and can significantly reduce noise pollution.
7) High heat sensitivity
It has better heat sensitivity than conventional refractory fiber materials. It is more adapted to automated control of the industrial furnaces.
8) Chemical stability
It is a type of neutral to acidic material. It is not eroded by weak acid, alkali, water, oil and steam and not wet by the lead, aluminum and copper.
Ceramic fiber blanket can be used at 600 ℃ to 1400 ℃. It has been a trend in the development of the furnace lining.
