Classification Temperature and Service Temperature of Ceramic Fiber

Ceramic fiber products have two temperature parameters for reference: classification temperature and service temperature. 

Classification temperature is the maximum service temperature of ceramic fiber in the actual use. It is specifically defined as the test temperature at which refractory fiber has high-temperature linear shrinkage rate of 4% when heated in a non-load condition for 24 hours. In the long-term use at this temperature, the service life will be very short. Therefore, in practice, it is seldom used for reference. 

 

Long-term safe service temperature is the test temperature at which refractory fiber has a high temperature linear shrinkage of ≤2.5% when maintained at this temperature for 24 hours. At this temperature, the crystal transformation and grain growth of crystalline fiber is slow, the properties are stable and fiber is soft and elastic.
