Guideline on the Selection of Ceramic Fiber Linings for Industrial Furnaces

Ceramic fiber is a new refractory insulation material. Due to its low thermal conductivity, low density, light weight and good insulation performance, it is widely used in industrial furnaces.
When selecting ceramic fiber materials for the linings of industrial furnaces, it is better to take the following factors into consideration.
(1) When used in the wall lining of heating furnaces, ceramic fiber materials should resist the highest furnace temperature.
(2) Take the conditions, fuels, environment and pressure into consideration. The working temperature of the same ceramic fiber materials can be different due to the conditions (heat source, gas composition and flow rate, operation system).
(3) The working temperature of the same ceramic fiber materials is different in different industrial furnaces, 50-100℃ higher in an electronic furnace than in a gas-fired furnace, 150-200℃ higher than in an oil furnace.
(4) The working temperature of the same materials is 100-150℃ higher in the oxidizing or neutral gas environment than in an reducing environment and slag dust containing sulfur and low melting point oxides.
(5) The working temperature of the same materials is 50℃ lower in a continuous furnace than in an intermittent furnace.
