What is the density of ceramic fiber modules?

The ceramic fiber blanket is formed by special double-sided needling process using special aluminum silicate ceramic fiber filaments. After the double-sided needling process, the degree of interlacing of the fibers, the delamination resistance, the tensile strength and the flatness of the surface are greatly improved. The fiber blanket does not contain any organic binder to ensure that the ceramic fiber blanket has good manufacturability and stability under high temperature and low temperature conditions.
The national standard density of ceramic fiber modules is 220Kg/m3, which is determined by the following two aspects.
1. It is well known that the good thermal insulation properties of ceramic fibers are derived from its low thermal conductivity. The thermal conductivity of the ceramic fiber module decreases with the increase of the bulk density, but the decreasing amplitude is gradually reduced. When the density exceeds 300KG/M3, the thermal conductivity is no longer reduced, and there is an increasing trend.
2, but the density limit of ceramic fiber module is 240Kg/m3; this is because the ceramic fiber blanket is processed by fiber cotton with double-roll twisting process. The length of fiber cotton is between 80-130mm, once it exceeds 240Kg/m3 At this ultimate density, the fiber breaks a lot and the fracture rate is as high as 48%, which affects product performance.
In practical applications, the density of the ceramic fiber module should be comprehensively considered according to the furnace type, temperature, combustion medium and temperature rise requirements of the heat treatment furnace, but the reasonable density should be between 200-240 Kg/m3, preferably 220 Kg/m3.
